About
Editing for Scholarly & Nonfiction Trade Books
I'm Glen Hoffmann, a Toronto-based editor and copyeditor specializing in scholarly and nonfiction writing, especially for philosophy and interdisciplinary scholarly work.

I help authors, publishers, and organizations bring complex ideas into clear, polished form—refining manuscripts and professional content for publication in print and online. My work focuses on clarity, accuracy, structure, and consistency, while preserving the author’s voice and intent. I have extensive experience editing book-length manuscripts and complex scholarly material in philosophy, the humanities, and the social sciences, including work with university presses and academic series.
My background in digital and print publishing includes editing and writing a wide range of scholarly and professional materials, from academic articles and books to web content, case studies, and white papers, as well as internal and client-facing communications.

I hold a B.A. and M.A. in philosophy from Western University and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Toronto. I taught philosophy for ten years at Toronto Metropolitan University and York University before transitioning fully into editing. I have also completed the Copy Editing for Books, Journals and Reports course at Toronto Metropolitan University.
